The Satriani Experience

Today was one of those days when something amazing pops up out of the blue. I go to the Maruti showroom to collect the papers for my new car, and then decided to ride a little further on and give a copy of the papers to the driving school I am going to. Having done that, I am just passing my friend Shaq's cyber cafe, and decide to pop in and say hello... And Shaq drags me along to the Joe Satriani concert (have VIP passes Pritam, Satriani isn't going to come here again for a long time)...

And what a concert it was! Though I have heard Satriani, am not a diehard fan, as I usually fancy some lyrics with my rock, not just instrumental pieces. However, seeing the man play live, that too from up near the pit, is an altogether different experience. It is not just screaming guitars. There are so many different sounds, layers, and textures to his music...and the best thing about it all is that like all other great artists, Satriani enjoys his art... and that makes the audience enjoy it too... Add to that a lovely personage - no rock star tantrums or obscenities - and you have a great artist who makes the world around him go WOW!

One of those days that has ended amazingly... more later on...
